Woolworths has appealed for customers to make in-store purchases, in an attempt to control the influx of orders on its online delivery service. Woolworths has remained one of the few retailers to continue with its operations and delivery service throughout the 21-day national lockdown. The service allows customers to make online purchases and have a driver deliver their essential goods to their door, whilst practicing social distancing. Despite the grocery store remaining open every day from 09:00 to 17:00, the online service continues to struggle to meet delivery requirements, as customers prefer to do their shopping online instead of in-store. Presently, the online service shows no available delivery slots during the 21-day lockdown period.
