On the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, KaDeWe asked its employees the question: "Where were you on the 9th of November 1989?". Approximately 200 employees participated and can be seen with a portrait at the front window gallery of the department store “Kaufhaus des Westens” (Store of the West), which is currently being transformed into the "KaDeBe - Kaufhaus der Berliner" (Store of the Berlin People).

KaDeWe revives an idea that already inspired the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall five and ten years ago. Since then, not only Berlin became more international, but also the employees of the Berlin icon have their roots in many different parts of the world. The people that give the KaDeWe a face every day have been photographed. CEO of the KaDeWe Group, opened the window gallery with all participating KaDeWe employees on the evening of the 18th October. The window installation can still be seen until 10th of November 2019 at Tauentzienstrasse.
