De Bijenkorf has confirmed it will create a French language version of its web shop to cater to France and the southern part of Belgium. Moreover, the company's German web shop will start delivering to Austria as well. However, there are, as of yet, no plans to also include Switzerland, despite the fact that it borders France, Germany and Austria and that most of its citizens speak French or German. Last summer, de Bijenkorf opened a German web shop. A few years earlier, the department store started online sales in Belgium, albeit only in Dutch. All orders are shipped from the distribution centre in Tilburg.
