The Archives project was born in 2015 on the occasion of the 150^th anniversary of the founding of the Magazzini Bocconi, which took place on June 4, 1865. The goal was to digitally rebuild the Rinascente archive, which was almost completely lost following various historical events such as the 1918 fire, 1943 bombing and ownership changes. The portal tells the story of Rinascente's birth and its daily evolution through an original portrait of the company and its protagonists starting from the Milanese context between the 19th and 20th centuries. The portal is powered internally and externally by all the spontaneous contributions that users send. Furthermore, Archives has been a fundamental tool for the realization of the ‘LR100. Rinascente’ - stories of innovation, held at the Palazzo Reale on the occasion of the 100^th anniversary of the group. In 2020, Rinascente will start an even bigger project, which in addition to involving Archives will aim at creating a real physical archive of the company.
