The Chilean multinational Falabella earned $ 162,372mn (US$ 323mn) in the first semester, 53% more than in the same period of the previous year. The company its revenues by 12.53%. Sales were at US$ 3.5bn in the semester. In the second quarter, its profits jumped even more, by 57%. By business, the home improvement area in Chile, via Sodimac, registered the highest increase, +32% of the total; department stores by 21.6%. By country, Peru contributed to 17% of the sales, more than twice the contribution of Argentina (7%) and five times Colombia (3.3%).
