Experience of Durga Pooja Pandals at Shoppers Stop

Shoppers Stop has taken the festival of Durga Pooja a notch higher with its beautiful window display. Durga Puja is one of the most-awaited festivals in India; it holds great significance in West Bengal and North-Eastern parts of India. Durga Puja is the celebration of ‘life’ and the joy of ‘living’. Since there is a restriction against on-ground pandals given the current pandemic situation, Shoppers Stop went all out and gave its customers the feel and experience of the Durga Puja ‘pandal’. The brand captured the true essence with bright colours and lights. The idea was to ensure the flavour of the same through extravagant displays that looked magnificent from far and near. The window was designed with four main components:

  • The backdrop is painted in red. It is considered an auspicious colour for the pooja. It also captures the ritual called ‘sindoor khela’ which Bengali ladies play in the pandal
  • The mandala with rotating lights signifies the brilliance of the Goddess Durga
  • The lotus flowers imply her 108 names
  • The merchandise dressed on mannequins indicate the festive ensembles that people wear when they visit these pandals

Shoppers Stop has roped in different local vendors across each city/state for the entire execution process. The Durga Pooja display is showcased in 12 stores including West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Jharkhand, and New Delhi.
