El Corte Inglés changes strategy at its centre in Barcelona Porta d’Angel, which until now  specialized only in sport, and will now showcase Unit, the department store’s affordable fashion chain competing directly with Primark or Lefties. Unit was until now only marketed in its Hipercor hypermarkets and will now  be featured in an independent store on Spain’s most expensive street. Founded in 2017, the brand carries collections for children, women and men, including lingerie, footwear and accessories. Portal de l'Àngel centre welcomes 4.5 million pedestrians annually. The 6,000m2 space over five floors presents brands such as Under Armor, Vans, Adidas or The North Face. Unit will keep about 1,000m2 for its store.
