  • Background: More than 1/3 of food produced for human consumption is thrown away globally. This means a waste of resources and an increase in emssion in production. Too Good To Go was created with the belief that reducing food waste is one of the most important things we can do about climate change; as a non-profit, its main mission is to work with local businesses and the community to fight food waste through various initatives.
  • Description: In Berlin, KaDeWe is partnering with Too Good To Go to reduce food waste from its famous 6th Floor -- 'die Sechste' -- food department. Using the Too Good To Go App, people can purchase a bag of baked goods, tea or a surprise mix from die Sechste at a lower price.
  • Impact: Extra food is consumed rather than wasted by connecting consumers with KaDeWe at real time whenever there is a surplus.
