The KaDeWe Group plans to build by 2024 a new department store based on the model of its Berlin store at Vienna’ famous location Mariahilfer Straße 10-18 and will be trading under its own banner which should be revealed at the end of 2021 and have an Austrian reference, says KaDeWe Group CEO André Maeder. A Viennese florist, a Viennese star hairdresser and a well-known jeweller will be on board, but international brands such as Louis Vuitton will also be represented with their own shops. Pop-up stores with newcomers will round off the offer.

The existing building has a total usable area of ​​around 58,000m2 as well as an underground car park with 327 parking spaces. On the roof, visitors can enjoy sophisticated restaurants and a publicly accessible roof park with a view of the city. This area of ​​around 1,000m2 is planned as a consumption-free zone and will also be accessible outside of business hours. A kind of local food market is planned in the basement. The project should also include a hotel with 150 to 165 rooms.
