Selfridges has launched a new campaign to bring cheer to shoppers during the dark post-Christmas months. Happy New Decade brings together a number of micro-moments to help alleviate the spirits, starting with its lift, which is now fitted with LED lights with 10.000 lumens to help reduce any seasonal affective disorder (SAD) side-effects.
Light therapy is a popular way of combatting SAD, simulating sunlight so that the Melanopsin receptors in the eyes can trigger the required Serotonin release within the brain which induces feelings of happiness. The lifts will also play recordings of compliments played by Sink The Pink founder Glynn Fussell.
