Ada is a highly immersive, tuition-free program that combines classroom training and a paid, learning internship to teach women and gender diverse adults both how to write code and become a software developer. Nordstrom’s involvement with Ada began as a grassroots effort started by a group of employees in their technology organization that believed in the value of diversity in technology at Nordstrom. While Ada students get hands-on experience at Nordstrom, the company gets back an incredible talent pipeline. To date, Nordstrom has hosted 11 cohorts and 39 interns, 23 of whom still work for the company — in addition to numerous other Ada alumni hired that didn't intern with Nordstrom.
