New pop-up café at with a purpose at Selfridges

A new pop-up cafe has opened in Selfridges, featuring an adult-sized slide for customers to use. New Ground is an ethical coffee shop, which trains and employs ex-offenders with a goal of reducing re-offending rates. Its ethics also extend to sustainability, with hot drinks served in recyclable cups, and any recycled in store will be turned into Selfridges paper shopping bags.

In situ until February 9 at The Corner Shop on the store’s ground floor, New Ground’s menu consists of 10 different coffees made from an exclusive Selfridges blend, and an optional shot of CBD oil. Tea and hot chocolate are also available, and the pre-work crowd are catered for with breakfast pastries.
