El Puerto de Liverpool reported that it will invest more than 25bn pesos (US$1.25bn) in the infrastructure of the Arco Norte distribution centre (Cedis), which should be deployed on a total area of ​​188 hectares (1.8mn sq. mt.). The centre, located in Jilotepec, state of Mexico, will be built in two stages. The first one will be dedicated to the storage and distribution of big-ticket items (furniture, white goods and electronics, among others) for an investment of MEXP7.4bn (US$380mn) and should be finalised in the first quarter of 2022. The second warehouse will be for the handling and storage of clothing and general merchandise, which will require an investment of MEXP8.8bn (US$438mn); Liverpool expects it to be ready by the first quarter of 2024.
