El Corte Inglés has achieved a positive EBITDA during the first half of its fiscal year (from March 1 to August 31) of €234mn, which translates into € 416mn more than in the same period of the previous year. The company has registered an increase in revenue of 25.1% compared to the equivalent semester of 2020, standing at €5,503mn, despite the absence of tourism and the restrictions that still persisted for a large part of the period, especially in the first quarter. The positive evolution of the distribution group is mainly driven by the improvement of the retail business (with an increase of €917mn), with the notable recovery of the fashion department.
