El Corte Inglés' retail sales grew by 4.5% in the first eight months of the year (in the case of the group, which began on March 1). Fashion and food, and their corresponding price increases in the heat of inflation, are the sectors that have driven the increase in turnover. The season that is now beginning, with Black Friday, the Christmas campaign and sales on the horizon, is key for the group, which generates 40% of its operating income in this period.
