Steen & Strøm is pleased to announce its partnership with Chanel Beauty for the 2023 window exhibition. Chanel's takeover includes seven decorated window displays, each offering a glimpse into the luxurious world of Chanel. These artistic installations encapsulate the holiday spirit with their sophisticated and whimsical designs. In addition, a magnificent centrepiece Christmas tree, measuring 8 meters in height and 4 meters in width, is suspended from Steen & Strøm’s atrium ceiling.

‘Many believe that the custom of giving Christmas gifts is a bad thing. This is hardly correct. The custom is well anchored in the traditional way of celebrating Christmas; it is in harmony with the content and meaning of Christmas. To give, that is to love; the foundation of the gift is love and devotion. Most people appreciate giving gifts. Happy is the one who can reflect the joy of the gifts in the eyes of their loved ones.’ This text was taken from Steen & Strøm's yearbook from 1954 and is the breeding ground for this year's Christmas campaign 'The Joy of Giving.' For generations Steen & Strøm has been synonymous with Christmas, and you can ask people across all ages, and they will speak fondly of their memories from Christmas windows, events, and installations at Steen & Strøm.

Again, Steen & Strøm collaborated with photographer Morten Borgestad and stylist Alva Brosten to bring the various characters to life. Seated around a decadent dinner table, you find the classic daughter, the quirky uncle, the IT teenage daughter, the overly ambitious little brother, the flamboyant boyfriend (of the grandmother) and not least the centerpiece herself – the hostess and the slightly snobbish grandmother. They sit around ready for the Christmas dinner and only light up when the grandmother enters the room and says 'gifts.' When everything is unwrapped, everyone is radiantly satisfied, but the one who grins the most is the grandmother herself proving that gift giving is what truly brings the most joy.
