Central Department Store Central Phuket Major Expansion

Central Pattana is undertaking a major expansion of Central Phuket, repositioning the mixed-use scheme to play a role in Phuket’s shift from a tourism-driven market to a global lifestyle destination. The expansion will increase the project’s footprint by approximately 40%, lifting the total development value beyond THB26bn ($835.7mn) upon completion in 2028. The enlarged scheme will span roughly 500,000m2 of gross building area, reinforcing its status as one of southern Thailand’s most significant retail and lifestyle assets.

Located in Phuket City, Central Phuket has progressively shifted from a conventional mall model to a luxury-led, experience-driven destination targeting high-spending domestic and international consumers. The latest phase is designed to capitalise on rising long-stay residency, branded residential growth and infrastructure upgrades across Phuket. A cornerstone of the plan is the doubling of luxury retail space at Central Phuket Floresta, alongside a repositioning of Central Phuket Festival to sharpen its fashion and lifestyle appeal. The expansion will also introduce new premium dining precincts and major attractions, including immersive entertainment concepts, to be delivered progressively through 2028.

Upcoming store expansions and exclusive concepts include the largest southern Thailand extension of Louis Vuitton, a 597m2 boutique from Prada featuring one of its most extensive beachwear assortments, a pop-up by Celine, and refreshed concept stores from Balenciaga and Saint Laurent. Separately, Central Pattana last year committed THB21bn ($640mn) to develop a new mega shopping and lifestyle complex, The Central Phaholyothin, in northern Bangkok.
