Last month, Nordstrom celebrated the opening of a new retrospective exhibit marking 125 years in business, brought to life in partnership with the Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI). The exhibit unfolds across four floors, each rooted in a different chapter of the Nordstrom story. It starts with shoes, the foundation the company was built on as a small storefront in Seattle. From there, guests move through decades of style, customer stories collected from the community, and a final floor tracing Nordstrom's place in pop culture. As Seattle's own history museum, MOHAI brought curation and storytelling expertise to help shape hundreds of archival objects in this exhibit. It represents a true hometown collaboration between two Seattle institutions.
