Today, IGDS is celebrating proudly its 75th Anniversary of providing exclusive services to its Members. On 16th June 1946, IGDS was founded by eight European department Stores including Jelmoli, Printemps, Selfridges and Rinascente in the city of Lugano in Switzerland. Over the years, our association has established unique relationships and now 43 department stores from around the globe make IGDS the largest association for department stores in the world.
Our Members are the main and only reason that IGDS could strive for success. We are honoured to celebrate this important milestone and moment with you. We are thankful for your ongoing dedicated support, fruitful cooperation and sharing of experiences and know-how within our group.
Department Stores have always been a mirror of the society and witness of the ‘Zeitgeist’ and they will also hold these roles in the future. IGDS Members and IGDS organisation are thrilled and privileged to be part of this great journey.
