Tokyo, 7 June 2019 – At the Official WDSF Dinner held on Thursday, 6th June 2019 in Tokyo, the department store industry celebrated its best sales associates and personal shoppers in front of an audience of retail and department store leaders from 36 countries.

The 'World’s Best Sales Associate at a Department Store’ Award and 'World's Best Personal Shopper at a Department Store’ Award honour exceptional performances by those on the frontline, who fulfil customer expectations and show commitment beyond duty, product knowledge, team work and commercial results.

‘World’s Best Sales Associate at a Department Store’ Award 2019

Zarah Naseem, from Selfridges & Co in England, won this year’s award for her strengths in providing excellent service, understanding brands, sharing product updates with clients and building unique customer relationships. The two other finalists were Joey Hupka, from Holt Renfrew in Canada, and Christian Tecson, from The SM Store in the Philippines.

‘World's Best Personal Shopper at a Department Store’ Award 2019

Visit Promsaka Na Sakonnakhon, from Siam Paragon in Thailand, received the title of ‘World’s Best Personal Shopper at a Department Store 2019’. His strong sense of leadership and unwavering attention to detail have set him apart, as well as his family-like connections with customers. The runner-ups in this category were Axel Surendorf, from KaDeWe in Germany, and Charlotte Ingram, from Selfridges & Co in England.

 

Jury representatives, Ameesha Prabhu, CEO of TRRAIN in India, and Jean Pierre Charriton, SVP of L’Oréal Luxe Asia Pacific, welcomed the winners and finalists on stage to hand them the coveted trophies and prizes.

 

The Intercontinental Group of Department Stores (IGDS) and award sponsors L’Oréal Luxe would like to thank all the participating department stores for nominating their best sales associates and personal shoppers. These prestigious Awards will be run again in 2021.
