Last week, the roofing ceremony was held at the KaDeWe Group’s new downtown Vienna Department Store LAMARR. The festivities mark the milestone of the LAMARR’s shell being officially completed and the start of the work on the facade. The project schedule for the construction of the building complex, consisting of a department store and a lifestyle hotel, comprises well over 2,200 individual work steps, which in turn are interlinked countless times. The plans – that envisage a space for guests on the roof with a park and catering areas – are based on ideas of the internationally renowned architectural firm O.M.A. from Rotterdam. The much-awaited opening of the LAMARR is planned for the spring of 2025.
