Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche invites visitors to explore the world of books during its new exhibition ‘Mise en Page’ from February 24 to April 21, 2024. Orchestrated by Sarah Andelman, co-founder of the emblematic Colette and publisher of ‘Just An Idea Books’, the exhibition reveals articles from bookstores around the world, alongside exclusive collaborations, exhibitions and literary events.

For almost two months, the department store will transform into a promised land for lovers of extraordinary stories! The introduction to the ‘Mise en Page’ installation will begin on the ground floor with a stroll between famous bookstores such as The Strand and Pillow-Cat Books in New York, Cow Books in Tokyo, and Book/shop in Oakland, and their collectible souvenir products. In these departments, tote bags are becoming the new it-bags, alongside exclusive bags like the Pocket Book format from Longchamp or the Kindle pouch from L/UNIFORM.

The next chapter takes place on the other side of the iconic escalators, where collaborations will be featured, including items inspired by the book, designed by Assouline x Casetify, Gallimard x Brigitte Tanaka, AMI, Maison Kitsuné, Marin Montagut, Inoui and even À la Mère de Famille, without forgetting jewelry and beauty selections. On 1st floor, there is the heart of the matter with ‘Just An Idea Books & Friends’, presented by Sarah Andelman, where she will present five new books, the photo exhibitions of Charles Bebert and RK, the foundry of Yorgo Tloupas, the ‘literary concrete’ furniture of Aline Asmar from Amman and many artistic creations. From the windows on the second floor of the store, through the escalator and the glass roof, artist Jean Jullien will make his giant sculptures (‘Paper People’) dance. A coffee shop, Café Nounou will be installed, right next to the bookstore. Signings, reading clubs, conversations between bookstores and workshops for children will also be held throughout the exhibition.
