Luxury repairs service The Restory opens at Selfridges

A space dedicated to restoring shoes, handbags and leather goods to give them a new lease of life has opened on the ground floor of the Selfridges flagship store on Oxford Street, London. The Restory will be offering luxury shoppers the opportunity to bring their luxury items for revival, as more and more consumers turn to new ways of shopping and services as an alternative to consumerism. Items dropped off at the Selfridges stores are sent to The Restory’s London-based atelier, where they are professionally assessed and quoted before an elite team of artisans undertake any required work. Last year the business was invited to take part in Farfetch’s 12-week Dream Assembly programme alongside ten other start-ups, and the service was announced as one of Walpole’s 2019 Brands of Tomorrow. Selfridges aims to make at least half of its products better for people and the planet by 2022.
