Globus is investing CHF 40mn to open new stores in Geneva and Neuchâtel. The department store chain, a subsidiary of Switzerland's number one retailer Migros, plans to open an outlet next year in the Balexert shopping centre in Geneva, where it is also expanding its existing Globus Hommes clothing boutique. A total of 130 jobs will be created. Balexert is Geneva's largest shopping centre. Globus already has a department store in the city's downtown. In Neuchâtel, it plans to move from the city centre to the Marin shopping centre, where a new store is scheduled to open in the fall of 2011. The expansion will bring the total number of Globus department stores and outlets in Switzerland to 14. The group is also planning to open a Globus Hommes shop at the Zurich airport.
