On 30 October 2025, Globus Basel celebrated its opening after three years of renovation. The traditional department store in the heart of the city has not only been comprehensively modernised, but reimagined as an iconic building: stylish, with an exclusive brand portfolio and a unique architectural signature. Globus Basel becomes not only a shopping destination, but also a new meeting place for locals and visitors. Creative pop-ups and events bring brands to life and create unique experiences. The building, featuring a new light-filled atrium, was designed by Miller & Maranta, under the creative direction of the Globus Store Design Team. The greening concept for the roof terraces was developed in collaboration with Raderschall Landscape Architects. The interior design was conceived by several architects, each of whom gave every floor its own distinct identity and atmosphere. The new atrium is the centerpiece of the house – a central stage for brands, presentations, and encounters. A total of three windows at the main entrance on the ground floor and two more at Martinskirchplatz on the 4th Fl. are regularly re-curated, transforming into small exhibitions that spark curiosity and invite visitors to discover more inside.
Across six floors, visitors can discover an inspiring selection of nearly 1,000 labels – from fashion and beauty to the Delicatessa Food & Wine and Home & Lifestyle department.
. Lower Ground Floor: A world of culinary delights with Delicatessa Food & Wine and a diverse gastronomy area. Highlights include products by Tanja Grandits, exclusive Cipriani specialities, and Switzerland’s finest Panettone selection with 13 brands. The offering is complemented by Kult Bäckerei and BALIK Kitchen – Bar & Brasserie.
. Ground Floor: Beauty and accessory highlights with the most sought-after international trend brands, including Charlotte Tilbury, Guerlain and Ex Nihilo, as well as the Globus Beauty Studio. A Chloé boutique, alongside accessories from Valentino, Burberry, and MCM.
. 1st & 2nd Floors: Women’s and men’s fashion; for women, brands such as Skims, Stella McCartney and French fashion by Soeur. For men, Stone Island, Lardini and Golden Goose – contemporary menswear with international appeal.
. 3rd & 4th Floors: Stylish interior design in the Home & Lifestyle Department with brands such as Christofle, Jellycat and Stanley, complemented by an exclusive Kids Fashion section and the Globus Christmas Factory. The Personal Shopping area provides additional services. Gastronomy on 4th Fl. is operated by DRAFT.Coffee, offering coffee and matcha specialities, brunch and a varied lunch menu. From the panoramic terrace, visitors enjoy views over Basel’s rooftops. Direct access to Martinskirchplatz connects Globus even closer to the city.
