De Bijenkorf challenged children up to the age of fifteen to design the store of the future. The jury consisted of ecologist Thiëmo Heilbron, head of sustainability at the Bijenkorf Justin Pariag, retail expert Rupert Parker Brady and Inge Schmitt, head of creative strategy at the Bijenkorf. The primary school class was chosen from seven finalists. They all came up with original ideas for this store of the future. There was an idea for the robots that make 3D prints, a design for a sustainable building in the shape of a beehive and a recycling room. The ideas of all finalists can be seen in the windows of various Bijenkorf stores until 9 March. Group 7A of the Maria School in Pijnacker won the 'Shop of the Future' design competition at the Bijenkorf.
