Nordstrom has unfurled a new destination called Best Gift Ever, a gift shop located in the first level of the New York flagship store featuring bespoke gifts.

The shop includes a wide range of gifts including art, collectibles, stationery, fashion accessories and apparel, jewellery, ceramics, apothecary and fragrance, tech, toys and experiences. A group of curators is enlisted to share their gifting picks and donate personal, pre-owned items to the shop. Featured curators include Mary J. Blige, Grace Coddington, Barbie Ferreira, Bill Nye, RuPaul, Amy and David Sedaris, and Chloë Sevigny. Each curator developed a list of handpicked gifting recommendations for customers to browse. Customers will also have an opportunity to shop one-of-a-kind gifts, like an illustration that David Sedaris hung in his office; a set of Steiff stuffed cats from Grace Coddington’s personal collection; earrings worn by Blige on tour; one of Nye’s signature bow ties from his closet; an afternoon tea with Sevigny, as well as other items.

Proceeds from these one-of-a-kind gifts will benefit New York City-based charitable organizations supported by Nordstrom, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City and the Hetrick-Martin Institute. Best Gift Ever will also feature a mix of brands that include Candylab Toys, Dan Life, Flower by Edie Parker, Leica, Lonely Lingerie, Lorien Stern, Katie Kimmel, Knotwork LA, La Californienne, May Lindstrom, Memphis Milano, Mondo, Puebco, Regime des Fleurs, Santa Maria Novella, Smythson, Steiff, Soohyang, Susan Alexandra, The Evolution Store and Unagi Scooters, among others. Through a partnership with luxury travel concierge Attaché at NinthFlr, Nordstrom is also offering a cooking class and dinner at a Michelin star-rated restaurant, a VIP Super Bowl experience and a trip for two to the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. The Best Gift Ever Shop was designed and built in collaboration with USM Modular Furniture. The shop, which opened 26 Nov., will stay through 29 Dec.
